Even though I didn’t join my first band until the ripe old age of 30, I’d always had a keen interest in vintage guitars and amps - although never enough money to own any. Now from around the mid 80’s you could buy reasonably priced vintage looking guitars made by companies like Tokai and Fender but the only way you could have a vintage looking amp was to buy an original…VERY EXPENSIVE!!
It was during the mid 90's that a mate of mine asked me if I could build him a couple of extension cabs for his Marshall amp. He wanted one in Black and one in Purple Tolex !!! After finishing those, I decided it was time to do something with my Fender Pro Junior. I built the chassis into a Bassman sized cab loaded it with 4x10" Jensen Alnico Speakers, covered it in Cream and Brown Tolex and with the wheat coloured grill cloth it looked like a huge 1950’s radio and sounded awsome…unfortunately I didn’t take any photos of it.
So that’s how I started, by building different amp chassis into all different kinds of cabinets and now that I’ve finally moved out of my loft and into a larger workshop, I’m busy building cabs, some of which you can see in the PHOTOS pages.
So if you fancy something a little different or just want to stand out from the crowd then please get in touch.
